SAP Business One Gets Its Own AI Assistant: Meet CIRA by Cinntra

CIRA AI Assistant for SAP Business One by Cinntra

Whenever companies discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for enterprise resource planning (ERP), they eventually come back to one name – SAP Joule. This makes perfect sense because Joule has become a powerful tool that is built into SAP’s cloud portfolio.

However, there is a little-known fact within the industry: Joule does not natively work with SAP Business One (B1). This means that over 80,000 small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that use B1 for their operations cannot take advantage of SAP Joule.

To eliminate that gap, Cinntra is developing CIRA - the Cinntra Intelligent Responsive Agent. CIRA is designed specifically for SAP B1. It is an AI assistant that connects directly with your company’s B1 environment.

When using CIRA, you can provide plain-English instructions, access real-time business data, and receive actionable information within seconds, without needing any technical training, without having to switch between screens or export data to answer a simple question.

The Gap that Enterprise AI Leaves Behind

SAP Joule is continually being developed and added to with new features such as role-based assistants, autonomous close agents, and procurement intelligence. These are great features.

But they are built around SAP’s S/4HANA Cloud, SuccessFactors, and SAP Ariba products. There is no version of SAP Joule for use with SAP Business One (B1). So, while B1 is the backbone for hundreds of thousands of SMBs worldwide, those companies do not get any of the benefits from Joule out of the box.

You can see precisely how much work is wasted due to inefficient processes in your organization with this productivity gap. Finance managers are working on manual reports. Sales teams are exporting CSV files to tally up their top customers.

Operations staff are scrolling through order logs in search of anomalies, for most businesses doing this is an everyday occurrence, and the frustration caused by this daily issue is draining time from each department every day.

"The companies that require AI the most typically have AI products made for them last."

What CIRA Actually Does?

CIRA is an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) query tool that uses natural language; a user can type a natural language question like, "Can you show me the top ten sales items for the quarter?" and CIRA will interpret the intent of the user’s request then query the appropriate data layer in the SAP B1 installation whether the installation is on-premised or back ended by HANA, and return an organized result set via the chat interface.

The request of the user does not have to be limited to the preceding example; an end user can also request a generated SAP B1 HANA query to obtain records of overdue purchase orders.

List of CIRA’s capabilities:

  • Accessibility to data – Sales, purchase orders, customer records.

  • Output formats – Dashboards, bar charts, pie charts, CSV exports.

  • Key insight engine – Variance detection, threshold alerts, recommendations.

  • Command execution layer – Create, retrieve, and delete records.

The analytics dashboard includes key performance metrics, total records, average sales, and highest and lowest sales values, in addition to a structured recommendation area and when the system identifies a significant data variance, the analytics dashboard includes detailed threshold guidance and proactively flags outliers.

Users do not have to wait until the next monthly business review or financial review to find out if they have a performance gap; the moment the variance is identified, the system alerts the user to the performance gap.

Built for the Businesses Actually Running SAP B1

Most Machine Learning for SMB SAP discussions tend to stay in the theoretical realm. Vendors demonstrate well-polished prototypes against a clean prototype demonstration environment. CIRA operates within production SAP B1 installations (lots of dirty transactional data with 10 years' worth of data), custom inherent schemas that are used by non-developers (day to day). The user interface is conversation-based in nature. Conversations can continue from one instance to another. The queries, when made to the Bot, retain context. The Bot learns vocabulary specific to the user's businesses.

Cinntra has engineered CIRA to be a vertical-specific agent, as opposed to being a horizontal chatbot built on top of an unknown generic platform. Every instance of a prompt, data retrieval path, and insight template is designed based on the realities of the data architecture of SAP Business One. This is what makes it successful in the area where general-purpose AI tools fall short.

The Shift is Happening Right Now

In the enterprise software realm, user expectations have been changing very quickly. There is no longer an acceptance of the concept that intelligent assistance is exclusively available to the Fortune 1000 using enterprise-class ERP applications.

The SAP B1 chatbot will be introducing chatbots into the marketplace to meet a genuine demand from SMB’s that are now seeing the advantages of a conversational AI offering built to meet their needs and not retrofitted to match a larger product offering.

CIRA represents Cinntra's belief that every SAP Business One customer deserves access to the same level of AI-driven ERP intelligence that the Enterprise giants have through SAP Joule. The technology exists, the integration is live, and the gap is closing quickly.
