Wholesale Food Distribution & Processing

SAP Business One enabled us to take full control over our inventory, orders, and finance processes, all in one interface. For the first time, all employees were on the same page.

The Problem

As A.I. Foods Corp. expanded its wholesale operations in the USA, it understood that the systems it was utilizing were becoming obsolete and could not cope with executing new functions. Management of perishable inventory, multi-brand purchases, pricing of wholesale customers, and abiding by FDA and USDA requirements by means of disconnected systems created many gaps in various aspects of the company. Employees worked separately, data was inaccurate, and management had no opportunity to see how the business was functioning.

Problems arose because there was no accurate system for checking the amount of stock available in each location, meaning that stock decisions were made based on estimates.

Batch and lot of traceability required paperwork to ensure that all FDA and USDA regulations were followed.

There were 2 different systems for managing orders and finance, so it was difficult to track payments and revenue.

Customer pricing was not managed through their main system and therefore caused a lot of inconsistent pricing and billing errors.

The procurement method used was too reactive, as there was no data available on the items that were in stock or had been ordered.

There was no communication between the departments, which resulted in working on some processes being done twice.

The Solution

Cinntra helped A.I. Foods Corp implement SAP Business One, which is the only integrated software system the company will need to run all its business processes.

With the new implementation, the company sees immediate positive results:
  • The company will have access to live inventory file management.
  • There will be better order management linked to billing and finance.
  • Compliance tracking will now be done automatically for the FDA and USDA requirements.
  • The procurement process will now be centralized, allowing for constant monitoring of stock levels.
  • The customer pricing policy will be incorporated into the system.
  • Reports will now be generated in the same format throughout the departments.

The Results

With SAP Business One in place, A.I. Foods Corp transformed the way its wholesale business operates.

There is total real-time visibility into stock balances, product batches, and warehouse movements.

Traceability is ensured in line with FDA and USDA without manual tracking.

Orders, invoices, and collections are managed as a single unified process.

Procurement is based on live data, which eliminates reactive purchasing decisions

Accuracy of pricing is improved for all wholesale customer accounts.
